We require the ability to stop Islamic terrorism, because Islamic terrorism is based on the idea of killing non-Islamics (and of course anyone who doesn't agree with the local mullah, and of course anyone they decide should be killed just because they don't like, and of course anyone they want to steal something from, and of course...) because they exist.
