This summer I'm taking my wife and 19 y/o son on a two week trip to Scotland, Ireland and England. We will probably visit the following places:

I'm sorry John, but your itinerary sounds a bit ambitious for only a two week trip - it sounds like "If it's Tuesday, it must be Belguium" < s >.

These are the sites that I would recommend in England:

The following are in or near London:

Buck House
Stonehenge and Avebury
Windsor Castle
Cabinet War Rooms
Westminster Abbey
Madam Toussaud's
British Museum
Tower of London
Trafalgar Square and the National Galary

And you must visit Bath while you are there.

Andy and I did a tour of the Scottish Highlands a couple of years back. If you want to rent a car and devote a week to the drive, you could probably do what we did:

Drove up through York - spend a day in York.

Spend a day in Edinburgh

Visit Pitlochery - if you get there the right time of year, you can watch the salmon jumping < s >.

Walk St. Andrew's golf course.

See Hadrian's Wall.

Then you can drive back via the Lake District which is quite beautiful.

However, to be honest, you are not going to do England, Scotland and Ireland all in a single 2 week trip.
