Hi,

Need a bit more info really.
Have you got a specific fortnight in mind?
From the map it looks as if you will be driving (rather than rail etc)?
What type of accomodation? 5* hotels, Somewhere to pitch a tent, Bus shelters<g>

In general:
The west coast of Scotland in the more picturesque. You could consider not driving the full length of Loch Ness - instead perhaps visiting Skye (coming back via the Mallaig ferry rather than the bridge. The drive from Mallaig to Ft. William is beautiful).

Another, more major, change would be to drive from Scotland down to Liverpool and use the Holyhead-Dun Laoghiare (BTW pronounced Dun Leary to pre-empt your giving the locals a giggle) ferry *to* Ireland returning via Rosslare-Fishguard. I'd suggest this because:
(a) Again the West and South coasts of Ireland are the best. So, although you'd probably miss Belfast, you could loop out say to Dingle peninsula and back via Cork to Rosslare instead.
(b) Driving for Liverpool to London is not particularly appealing whereas you could take in a bit of the Lake District or the Penines driving down to Liverpool from Scotland. Not to mention some of Wales on the way to London!

I guess the above is mainly based on choosing the most scenic / pleasant driving option which may not be a high priority for you....

Regards,
Viv

>This summer I'm taking my wife and 19 y/o son on a two week trip to Scotland, Ireland and England. We will probably visit the following places:
>
>1. Fly into Edinburg
>2. visit Loch Ness (wrestle a monster)
>3. Mull
>4. Ireland (Belfast and Dublin - where else to go?)
>5. Liverpool - stop in to see where JPGR started it all
>6. London
>7. Scotland Yard
>8. Buckingham Palace (see if i can make a guard talk)
>9. Paris via the chunnel
