Plan not to eat in Edinburgh. <g> Our experience was that the food was mostly terrible. Our best meals there were in Mike Lewis's home and at a French bistro he recommended.

OTOH, Edinburgh was fun. Edinburgh Castle was fascinating--spring for the audio tour. We bought a pass for one of those hop on-hop off trolleys to get around. Nice little art museum--figure 1-2 hours (which is about my tolerance level for art museums and galleries <g>).

As for London and the area, we spent a week there 10 years ago and didn't come close to seeing everything we wanted. Buy passes for the tube and pick up an ABC guide (I think that's what it's called--it's a little map book). Don't even think about driving in London.

Among our favorites, Stonehenge and Avebury (Andy was kind enough to provide transportation that day); Greenwich, where we stood on both sides of the Prime Meridian; the rebuilt Globe Theater; the science museum, where the building itself is worth the trip.

I agree with Marcia that you can't do all three in 2 weeks.
