IMHO they would have said nothing about our minor indiscretion until they were provoked to enforce rules. Once you start to enforce rules, any laxity you have allowed becomes a risk and generally has to be closed. Plus, Michel does seem to have taken note of the security implications. It doesn't come across as rigid and "GodKing" AFAICS.
