We are equipping the MPD squad cars with license plate detection cameras, which will feed the tag numers into a computer and check the cars for stolen, out of date registrations, and warrants against the registered owner and occupants.

We will also be installing "gunshot detection" cameras in the "hot spots" of Memphis. Hey abig brothah, as soon as you arrive....

>>Hi,
>>You are wrong, the current recognition technology can identify all occupants in each car on a six lane highway in realtime, as well as do a registration check, vehicle color check, and make and model of the vechicle, and it runs on a laptop.
>>
>>I saw it tested a few years ago over here, they had to shut it down after a couple of minutes as it had identified a couple of hundred violations and there wasn't sufficient resources present to process the infringments.

>Identified all six occupants in a moving vehicle. Wow. Amazing they could even see all six. Must have and incredible photometric database with some awesome processing power. I know some of the MI-5 folks who process CCTV feeds in London. They'd love to get their hands on something this good.

>But aren't you worried? I mean, that sounds a lot more intrusive than fingerprints. You must be terrified. I don't think I want to go to

>>>Current facial recognition systems are as reliable as hiring a medium to get clues from the afterlife.
