Not sure if it is an option for you but may want to look into upgrading to VFP9. Many of the enhancements could be helpful in getting your code more compatible with MS SQL. If I recall they did a lot of work to bring the SQL syntax in line with MSSQL like adding CAST(), Varchar, LIKE "..%", and with Sedna you get the new upsizing wizard.

Also I hear MSSQL 2008 will have a DATE (not just datetime combined) datatype which would have been nice to have.
