>Hi all,

>I have a problem with one computer that should run an automated phone answering system 24/7, but for a reason unknown to me, after certain amount of inactivity time (also unknown to me, the computer is in a locked computer room) the windows login screen comes (like if you set it up in the screen saver to ask for password) and the program stops responding incoming calls, until I put the password back to it, and without restarting the program or touching anything else, things are back to normal. What I do not understand is why this login screen comes, I checked and the screen saver is turned off and the power options are all "always on", I am sure I am missing something pretty obvious, but I can not figure it out exactly what it is. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Does your phone answering system run as a service, or as a user process? Running as a service might be a workaround.

Is anyone connecting to the computer via Remote Desktop or some other remote-control product? Maybe it's something like they are logging off when they should be simply disconnecting (if applicable).

Has a network administration policy (possibly via a Group Policy Object) been set that forces the logon screen to appear after X minutes of inactivity?
