Hi Al,

I am using a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW connected via a shielded DVI-cable to my workstation, and everything is fine (best display I ever had). I also use it as 2nd display plugged to my ASUS notebook via shielded RGB-Cable and also everything is OK.

However, if your analog cable isn't shielded or has been folded, which mostly happens near the plugs, then it might happen, that objects and letters are shadowed. So... have you tried another cable already?

And try out another PC with a newer graphic card also.

BTW, if your current card is already five years old... is it still AGP or PCI-E? For AGP time is running out, so you shouldn't wait to long with buying a new one, or you might find yourself also in need of a new mainboard -> cpu -> ram .... ;-)
Best Regards
-Tom

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place.
Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are,
by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
