The Montreal Canadians have won their share of Stanley Cups. The 100th is mentioned more and more as being a cool year to win it again. The team has been pretty good this year. Many young guys know what it's like now to be in the series. Next year should be better.

>Around here there has been a lot of publicity about it being the 100th "anniversary" of the last time the Cubs won the World Series. For some reason, some are taking this as reason for optimism. It's been 100 years so now we're due? I don't quite get that. More like overdue IMO, or maybe there's a reason the Cubs haven't won in 100 years.

>Before the season the Tribune had a quiz section consisting of 100 questions, mostly trivia, commemorating "100 years of ineptitude." My favorite was kind of a trick question. It asked who the radio announcer was the last time the Cubs won the World Series. Answer: nobody, radio had not yet been invented.

>And Yankees fans complain that they haven't won it in 8 long years....

>>A priceless experience for Carey <g>. He's really the goalie of the future for the Habs. He proved to be good wherever he's been. He's still very young and perhaps next year will be the one for the 100th anniversary of existence for the Habs.

>>>The Flyers have been that way for years, that is, making the other team pay for mistakes. I think Price did well in the series; I didn't see too many obvious errors and that go-ahead goal in the final game was a fluke.
