So let's say instead of just capturing these suspects and detaining them for years without trial and without counsel, we had just lined them up and shot them in the head. Would that have been OK with you, too, since they aren't U.S. citizens?

It's pretty clear, once you stop trying to be obtuse about it, that the U.S. judicial system (along with many others) protects certain human rights, not American rights per se.

This isn't the first time the Bush administration's legal maneuvers in the "war on terror" have been struck down by the Supreme Court, and it won't be the last. And you sure can't blame it on a liberal court. (Otherwise you would have <g>).
