Thanks for your input but I know for sure it is a corruption problem.

This is not a new application and the processing has been working fine for
years now.

Maybe I sould have given you example of data:

seek '990037-606' was successful as per the found() function,

but the record pointer was positionned on project 992033-FTR after
the seek.

I evidently tested that in command mode to make sure I was not going crazy :)

I guess the only solution is to add a reindex of all files before the month-end processing (which will add about 20-30 mins) or to figure out what is causing these corruptions.
