I am sorry, but without more information, it's hard to help. One thing to try to test the connection string is with the Business Layer Generator (BLG). It uses the app.config file to list the database keys to select from to make a connection to a database. When you run the BLG, do you get the keys listed in your app.config file and then do you get a successful connection based on the connection string?

If so, then you are one step closer to solving your problem.

>Bob, I tried your suggestion but it didn't help. I didn't have that line in an earlier version of this program using SQL 2000 where the programming environment was on a separate machine from the SQL Server computer. Any other ideas? Thanks.
