Bob, I had already checked the Business Layer Generator and the connection string in the app.config file is exactly the same as that in the BLG and I am able to generate business objects with no problem. That is what has me baffled. I would think that if the issue is two versions of SQL on different servers were the problem, I would have the same problem in the BLG.

Since the first form I was working on was imported from another project, I tried building a small form from scratch but it had the same problem.

I'm at a loss as to what else to try.

It uses the app.config file to list the database keys to select from to make a connection to a database. When you run the BLG, do you get the keys listed in your app.config file and then do you get a successful connection based on the connection string?

>>Bob, I tried your suggestion but it didn't help. I didn't have that line in an earlier version of this program using SQL 2000 where the programming environment was on a separate machine from the SQL Server computer. Any other ideas? Thanks.
