That's programming style where you can't read your own code within a week :).

Most of the regions in the former SFRY, having a phonetic language, had syllable permutating slang - which just wouldn't work on English. First, there are too many things which become unpronounceable or would change sound completely when at beginning or end of word ("message" would become "ssageme" - there are almost no words beginning in "ss", "dignity" - "gnitydi", "support" - "pportsu" etc.), and there are too many monosyllables. Actually, words like "there" feel like monosyllables, but "rethe" would be a legal permutation and would count as a disyllable, but the sound would be quite unrelated to the original. Consider "where" vs "rewhe", "query" - "ryque", "error" - "orerr".

With a phonetic language no such trouble occurs, and there really aren't any unpronounceable combinations.

You'd be surprised how easily the kids in the sort-of-underworld (ticket scalpers, pickpockets, tavern inventory, soccer fans) would pick this up and use it on the fly - and understand it. Specially Sarajevo, Belgrade - even today, after decades of this, you'll get a "vozdra" instead of "zdravo".
