I agree. I don't recall the handgun bans in Washington or Chicago saving common people from hoodlums with guns. If we banned all fertilizer sales only looneys would have fertilizer. So why have these bans at all that only affect law-abiding folks and have zero-impact on criminals? It's never made sense to me.
