Also, although he had experience as a Governor, I remember that he was considered fresh and new and a change from old politics back then. I was 16 in 1976 and unable to vote but I was very active in politics back then.

Oh, yeah, I know I voted for Carter in November. I just can't remember who I would have preferred to be the nominee. I'd been very involved in the '72 election, but don't have much memory of '76.
