>Well, if I open the form and immediately look at the grid, it shows the same client name for each record. But if instead I click the next button to move the record pointer and then look at the grid, it's as it should be. So it's like the relation is set, but hasn't "clicked in." I put a GO BOTTOM followed by a GO TOP for the controlling table to move the record point and try to get the relation to click, but still if I look at the grid without moving the record pointer via the next button the grid does not display the names properly. So I'm moving it along, but haven't gotten the exact solution, yet. I've really let myself get too distracted today. Now I have a bunch of time to make up. Bad me.

You may try LOCATE after you set the relations. Where you're setting them, BTW, in form's Load?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
