I do know we have a low number of drug addicts, but drugs are increasingly used for recreation (so only in weekeds by youth to go out). That is a problem. Last week a kid got depressive after taking drugs and threw himself in front of a train.

Sheesh. Good thing there wasn't a gun handy... (sorry just couldn't resist that one and I really don't intend to make light of a really really terrible disaster especially since no where in the world should guns be "handy" for anyone, let alone teens.) When I was young and in the Army, two fellow drunk soldiers in my section died from climbing on top of a train during Oktoberfest in Munich. They were electrocuted in front of our eyes.

>Maybe it is related to the fraud in construction up here, which was a hot topic a few years ago. Construction companies formed a kartel and agreed who was granted what job, to drive up the prices. Also there are some reports that government employees were bribed with expensive trips/holidays, real estate and prostitutes, etc. The main victim was the government which lost billions on it.

>I'm not sure exactly, but I've seen a program in national geographic yesterday explaining that a lot of crime is related to the natives (aboriginals and moari) as about 50% of the prison population is native while only 3 - 5% of the population is native. (I'd like to be corrected on this if I'm wrong BTW.. I have no intention to discriminate here).

I didn't read any discrimmination into it. Just observation. IMO, PC has gone too far so that it is almost impossible to discuss reality and try to fix things that are broken... If it were the U.S., the discussion would not be 'why are so many aboriginals and moari committing crimes,' but rather 'why are so many aboriginals and moari targeted by our police.' We have moved so far out in the wrong direction it is unbelievable...
