I can understand for commercial TV and radio, but there's always Internet for getting news.
I have to say that I found myself pretty privileged here in Canada with Radio-Canada because on TV, they have some commercials, but not that much and no commercials at all on radio.
>I've spent the weekend newsless. Can't stand the commercial radio and TV for, well, being loudly commercial. NPR was the remaining choice over the years, but this week we just had enough - I've explained it in other threads. So for a few days we listened to web radio - Brazilian music, tango, Roman American jazz (or was it named after the language? Latin then) and the rest of the mental hygiene. Bliss.
