OK, further testing is even more frustrating:

1. I setup a linked table in Access to the Handbase file (originally created by handbase, though I've had the same results creating the table elsewhere). Access edits and adds records perfectly.
2. I created a remote connection via database container in VFP - used the Access driver to open the database I created in Access. I had hoped this might create a "wrapper" effect to eliminate the problems opening the driver directly in VFP. The results in VFP are exactly as if I had connected directly using the Handbase driver....i.e. I get an table conflict error when editing, and the dreaded C005 error upon trying to add.


>Does anyone have successful experience using HanDbase ODBC driver (Palm database program) with VFP? I can get read access to tables from my Palm, but either get update errors when I try to edit or, worse yet, C005 errors when I try to add a record. The worst part is that everything works great from Access. The vendor doesn't seem to know anything about VFP and likely tested the ODBC driver to specifically work with Access.
