I've used email notification in several applications that were done on a Novel 4.0 network running GroupWise as the e-mail server. It was a simple matter of hacking together an address header, attaching the report and parking the file in the post office directory. (the groupwise docs had very clear instructions on how to set this up and what to put in the header). I've also done similar things using UNIX. I've never attempted to do it using WinNT e-mail servers but i would imagine the process is very similar.
