Perhaps my initial observation regarding this issue was in error. It seems that perhaps the issue does not stem from MS Vista.

In doing some additional experiments, it appears that when running MySQL the amount of time needed for the programmatic creation of a REMOTE parameterized VIEW seems to increase as the number of records in the remote table increases as if some kind of remote Select is being performed during the create process and a greater number of records results in more time to get the view created? Seems strange as the creation of a parameterized remote view should only concern itself with the structure of the table and not the data.

Once the view is created all is ok. It can be used within the DE of a form with NODATAONLOAD and all works as expected.

This obviously is not the case with MS-SQL. The code works exactly as expected. I'm using the MySQL ODBC 5.1 Drivers and every other aspect of the app seems to work fine, but this delay in the creation of the parameterized views is a killer!
