After trying everything that all of you suggest, I decided
to reinstall Windows'95 in the computer with the problem
and, like magic, the problem is gone.

Another Microsoft bug??????

Further, if, in your code, you SET RESOURCE TO... and the file exists but isn't a valid resource if, you'll get this type of error. Try creating a CONFIG.FPW file in the working directory, include the line RESOURCE = ON, and backup and delete any existing FOXUSER file. By default VFP will create a new one for you.
