I am trying to install a scsi scanner (old legacy machine).

I have asked windows to find the new device, it installs the drivers, but there is no communication between scanner and computer. When I go to the control panel and check the system, the device installed (the scsi adaptec drivers) has a little red cross and the notice says "device disabled (code 20)" [or it may be 22 I cannot remenber as the computer is at another location]

I have spent many hours going over the same proceedure without any luck. I have also tried switching jumpers all about. How can I enable it?
