You have your opinion I have mine. Yours is as valid as mine but for you, not me. I am a paying subscriber and the twit filter is one of the features I pay for. If any one does not like the feature, they don't have to use it. Anyone can speak or write just about anything they like. However, no one can force me to read their messages anymore than they can force me to listen to them speak or read their snail mail. It may not be an important feature to you, but it is to me. If it were no longer available, I'm not sure I would continue to be a paying member or that I would even continue using the UT.
