I used to live in Tyler and Henderson back in the 80's and 90's and used to fish a lot on Lake Palestine. I just got to thinking about 10 years ahead and saw nothing growing in the Longview area. Tyler is a tad bit better. I actually lived about an hour north of Longview and drove in most days and after 10 years was ready for a shorter drive but did not want to move to Longview and the wife thing and such.

We still have the satellite office in Longview with only 2 developers in it. The original product designer/founder and one other developer. This company bought us a few years back and moved everyone but us 3 to Austin. The founder has a deal from when he sold he would never have to move, but I don't see him there to the end of my career tenure ( if I stay that long ) so I'd rather move when i was ready instead of when they wanted me to.

I have 10 years of VFP and my .Net attributes get stronger every day so this area was a no brainer since I wanted to avoid the real big cities and stay in Texas.
