>I moved to keep options open. Where I was there are very little tech jobs ( more like none and very low on salary scale if you found one ) and no user groups etc...

It allows me to "divest" now and attend .Net user groups if I want and also if I get the urge to move on ( or have to ) the Austin economy is still rocking and finding a new job would not be that hard for the near future. Our transition from VFP to .Net is slower than I want and I get the hankering every so often to move forward.

I have also searched in this area for tech jobs and find very little and not so good pay. I am a sub contractor but working for the same client company for several years. I came to Texas from Oregon where the company is and I worry some about them getting tired of me being so far away. However I have invested in where I live enough that it would be hard to re-locate. I suppose I just keep hoping for the best. I once looked at the Georgetown area as there is a nice airpark there. They had mostly sold out of lots when I was looking so ended up here in East Texas. I like it but hope the work holds out. And darn I thought we could start a user group with the two of us.
