>Okay, a passive moderator, who gets active when someone has a complaint. A moderator who stimulates social behavior and suppresses anti-social behavior. Why not?!

If you don't know, I would suggest there is in fact the reason there are probably only about 5 people who actually use the twit filter who actually read that message. :-)

>I have also proposed to make the originator of a thread the primary moderator of that thread. What you'd see is that people are reluctant to jump in a thread that's started by a bad moderator and are happy to jump in threads that are started by good moderators.

>>>Twit filters may be okay in certain cases, but not in THIS forum. That's what I'm trying to make clear. This forum is for professional developers. Hypothetically, if I'd notice that one of my employees refuses to interact at all with another employee, I'd fire him. What this forum needs is an active moderator.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
