It didn't use to--it just did that parsing when you press F1. It still does, for all I know, when it comes to F1 Help. But VC++ 6 definitely does idle-time parsing now, so that, for example, it can show you the type of any identifier (even one you just defined!) when you hover over it.

:) Well, I gotta admit that things like that make me think long and hard about whether using the inferior database capabilities provided with VC++ might not just be worth it. Then I come to my senses. :)
