>>>>I just wanted a healthy baby, too. There was no preference either way. After Allie was born I was so flipped out I wanted Emily to be a girl, too, which indeed she was. There is nothing missing in me not having a son. I know some cultures are that way, but not me.

>>>I come from a family of girls, there were 5 of us and no brothers (my poor Dad was really out-numbered). Consequently, when I became pregnant, I was really, really hoping for a boy. I was tired of all the sisterly melodrama! <g> My maternal grandmother was a nurse when she was younger, and she told me that she was 100% accurate in predicting the sex of the baby. She told me, when I was about in my 8th month, that I was definitely going to have a girl. Well, I was a little disappointed, but you know that all you really *do* care about is that the baby is healthy, whatever sex it is. Imagine my surprise when Adam was born (4 weeks early, breach and only 4 and a half pounds ... I had to have a C-section). I subsequently had two more sons after the first one. Guess I got my wish. And, between us sisters, there has been only one girl born ... all the rest have been boys (6 boys, 1 girl). I think that made my Dad happy. =0)

I was voted most likely not to reach 21 in my 10th grade English class. At my ten year reunion, three girls from my home room, ran up saying, "you're still alive!" Hmmmm, I guess I had a lot of energy.<g>
