Michel,

>>Right click the project (DLL) in the solution explorer and select properties then click the Assembly Information.. button . Is that waht you are looking for? (it works the same was as for an EXE assembly)

I do not see a link to the Assembly information from there. From the Project menu, when I select My project name Properties, under Application, I see Assembly Information. Is that the same reference you are mentioning? If yes, in there, I see Assembly Version, File Version. But those always remain to 1.0.0.0. How can I have the build to start populate those?

In your project do you have a properties node in the solution explorer? If you expand it there should be a AssemblyInfo file that you can open. I believe toward the bottom where the assembly: tag is you can set * for the values you want to be incremented auto-magically. I am not sure why but in my projects that build a dll they are all set to hard code all four values.
