Indexing Offline Views
I am currently working on an application that uses views of data on a SQL Anywhere server. For performance reasons we take these views offline, and we also create indexes on them. If we detect any corruption (missing dbf's etc...) for the offline views we dropoffline and createoffline to create a new local table.
The problem occurs when we try to recreate the index for an offline view. It appears that the DBC remembers the index on the offline view. I have tried using the "Delete Tag All" keywords, using the new offline view in admin mode to no avail. I have tried closing and re-opening the DBC in conjunction with the above to no avail. How do you make the DBC forget about indexes on offline views ? Can it simply recreate indexes (reliably) after a dropping offline and creating offline again ?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Bruce Parlier.
