I think this is one of those annoying VFP shortcomings. It seems to decide by itself if it wants to show them.

Another thing is to right-click a method window -> properties and ensure that "Show line/col position" is checked there too. Mind you, in my case neither of these has made a blind bit of difference. Well ... it did for a while and now it's reverted to not showing. Go figure.
