>Tamer, this sounds like Cleveland. One of the legacies of the old Rockefeller / Standard Oil Days is a very impressive library system. I order stuff on line and it is sent to my local library. DVD and books on CD collection is amazing. There is also an ebook lending system and I can get anything from pretty much any library - including Universities - in Ohio.
Having University libraries is very cool. When I was teaching at Penn, being able to get at the library collection was a terrific benefit (and one I think I can probably get as an alum, too, but haven't looked into).
Are you sure it's Rockefeller, though? I know that Andrew Carnegie funded a ton of public libraries.
