The funny thing is that there is no user / group selection in the Sharing tab, just check boxes for 'Share this folder on the network' and 'Allow network users to change my files' and a textbox for a 'Share name'. The help too has only this much to offer.

In W2K I could have followed you instructions and got it working. I am using Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 if it matters.
