>I only asked that question as it's one of those things I turn off to give me better control over setting up a network share, as well as correcting some "quirkiness" that I've seen whenever it's turned on. Rather annoying whenever you have to deal with a WinXP Home computer and discover that the "feature" is always on (it cannot be disabled).
It is good you asked because I had completely missed it and that was all that was required to get the shares working. Though the first thing I have always done is to turn on Extensions and Show Hidden and System files (I always do that on a machine I am supposed to work on), this was new to me. It is irritating that we are being over protected, this is Win XP Prof., for Home version I can understand that you need to turn it on, but it is too much if you can't at all on a Home version.
Thanks for sorting this one out for me.
