So far in our experience, It is backwards compatible. In other words, if you create an app on a system with 1.1 you can compile and run it with 1.1 and higher. However, just as with VFP, you cannot run an app compiled with VS2008 and .net 3.5 on a system that has 1.1 of the framework only installed. The framework must match just like the runtimes in VFP must match (oohh deja vu) :o)
