>It appears to be at a very early stage of development, however.

That may be the appearance from the site, but that isn't really the case.

>For example, creating UI you need to code screen controls' X/Y coordinates manually.

Only if you do Layout::Absolute. To be honest, I layout in NOLOH like I do in WPF. It all panels within panels. You really just set the main outer panels up and then everything else is relative. But, you can get very, very precise layout by setting a panel's Top or Left relative to a different panel's Top, Bottom, Left or Right. So, the intricate is really easy. I coded in Dbase II and I can assure you, it's nothing like.

>I see that they have visual designer UI on the improvements list, but at least to me this is a show stopper until there is a modern visual design interface like .NET or (gulp!) even VFP.

They have finished the visual designer; I have used it. Right now, their graphic designers are skinning it to make it look like it should. But, the functionality is built and working.

>The hello world demo with the moving "click me" -button is kinda cute, but it leaves me wondering if this is the most advanced thing NOLOH people can come up with at this point.

I have seen some amazing things done in NOLOH. Their site does not do the current state of their product any favours. I myself am building a SaaS product with some really quite advanced UI with extreme Drag/Drop capabilities using NOLOH "Shifts". Absolutely crazy powerful and yet so easy.

If I were you, I would stay tuned to their site :)

>The idea of coding PHP without actually coding PHP is an intriguing one, though, and holds a lot of promise...

You betcha!

Cheers
