How to "fix" human nature is a question theologians and philosophers have been debating since the dawn of time. Since there is yet to be a viable solution we must work with what we can.Yes, but "working with" implies action including changing and trying to improve things, both of which also are elements of human nature whether your target be disaffected youth or white-collar fraudsters.
Most of the issues surrounding the regulation of banks and intelligent lending practices were solved decades ago. Don't "fix" what isn't broken.Well, some people are now saying the crisis including regulatory change can be tracked back to the inflationary effects of China's surplus.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
