DisplayAlerts has no effect upon the behavior, at least when background printing is disabled at the document level. It's impossible to disable background printing at the application level due to an apparent bug in Word 2007 (documented on a couple of Microsoft forums.) Did I miss something in your post? I hope so because these dialogs are intrusive!
