>I have been crabbing for a while about delays of a minute or more on the UT. Wanted to give you an update. Last Friday I switched providers from Comcast to AT&T DSL and have noticed few if any delays since then. So it may have been something to do with Comcast, whether in the setup in my house or something in their network. This still doesn't explain why I was only seeing these delays in UT sessions (connecting to a server in Canada maybe? -- grabbing at straws) but it does seem to point to Comcast somehow rather than anything under your control.

Given AT&T's new bundles, I am considering switching from TWC to it. I hate to give up the speed though. Did you go with the fastest DSL speed option? How does it compare?

I actually work through a Pix firewall, a local router, and then through the cablemodem to my work. I access drives on the network at work daily. Is it sufficient for that?

My average speed around the U.S. in different tests: 9646 kbps down, 485 kbps up

(average of tests on different days/different hours to multiple sites using numerous speed test sites)

Although any speedtests to servers in the Chicago area always test upwards of 14956 kpbs down, 491 kbps up so go figure - what's up with that route?
