To my knowledge Microsoft offers inter-operation between Windows Forms and WPF and if re-doing application from scratch is not realistic , one may start impressing clients with WPF slowly replacing some functionality or producing new parts in that.

You're right, I wouldn't be happy ... but it would be something to start with. I have heard that you can mix WPF with windows controls (well, I'd use my sub-classes of windows controls), so that may be the direction to go. Again, I don't think it will be any time soon for the suite of products we are currently working on.
