There is a property at the form level to show or not show all tooltiptexts on the form. The property is Form.ShowTips, and the default is .F. for a form (and .T. for a ToolBar).

I want to suggest an alternative: StatusBarText is much less intrusive. Text shows in StatusBar, so you can assign descriptive text to lots of objects, without interfering with the user's work.
