>I tell you what....from my perspective....while the classes I took beforehand "helped", the biggest learning experience was in the hospital for three days. Gwen had her c-section on Friday, and was released on Monday....so in those 72 hours, the nurses helped me a ton. They never did anything for me, they simply helped me with everything I was going to need to learn. Like many people, I learn kinetically, so those 3 days were the biggest help of all.

I can't say whether our experience was typical but both times for us the nurses were the stalwarts. The docs were fine but they tend to swan in near the end. The nurses were there from soup to nuts (two shifts of them the first time).
