Two weeks worth of work (its barely 5000 bucks) - but the guy stopped payment on the check!

I've sent an email and I'm going to comfront the asshole tomorrow. I realize it's not a huge amount of money - but I just moved back from Hawaii and that is me and the girls rent! I'm lucky one of the twins had some money tonight - I found out about this trying to pay for our dinner tonight and my c-card was regected! I am so mad I can't even see straight - and to top it off the girls are sleeping on the couch tonight!

Has anyone else out here had a problem with this jerk - and does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle someting like this (other than sending a couple of thugs to his office)?? DAMN!
