So how about this: there was a time when citizens needed gas-masks or nuclear bomb-shelters in their backyards. At one point there were nuclear weapons in Cuba and a serious risk of MAD. The people kept their chins up and coped. Surely we can cope with an economic contrivance that boils down to fear of inflation even though all of our international buddies would benefit if we all embraced it. Taking a long nap around the 2nd week of September in 2001 is about the only excuse for a statement like that.
The problem is much worse than just fear of inflation.
