>To answer your question. I would not know what they'd do, but probably they'd go through the UN and NATO and search military support at their friends and try to find causes and a way to take the problem at the root rather than seeding more. They certainly would not react in blind rage. Because we know, it does not solve anything.

>I still think Bush should have gone further than he did - but he succeeded in keeping any further attacks from occuring on U.S. soil after 9/11. So I'd say he achieved a major objective, despite the fact that people would rather talk about blaming America for everything we've done post-9/11, than talking about the fact that Bush kept the U.S. safe from major attacks for 7 years. No one has disputed this point, because no one CAN dispute the point.
Yeah, I'm sure the family of the Madrid and London attacks feel the same < g >. And whats the big deal about succeeding any further attacks on the US. This was the first one, and if it were not about a failing bomb shoe, it would not have been the only one as well. The US is much easier to secure than europe in this respect.
Strange that people credit Bush for what he had done well, and point to others for what went wrong
As for the results. Bombing in Madrid and London. Tents *if not* hundreds of thousands of killed citizens in iraq. Even Sadam did not achieve this in his carreer. But then of course an iraqi life is not worth much heh? Every month there are new reports of afghan citizens bombed by American military.
But even here, I'd agree that not all force is not neccesary. War comes with casulties.
BUT THE BIG PROBLEM WITH YOUR REASONING IS
That appearantly it is neccesary that harmless victims can be prisoned and turtured like cattle and that no national and international laws are applicable here. They currently are no threat to you, so it is not neccesary to kill and torture them while they are imprisoned.
But appearantly some americans feel they are superiour to any other human being. Sad... real sad.
