You're preaching to the converted. I've been saying for years that here in Ontario, the law should be such that on a conviction of dui, the license should be suspended in perpetuity. If the person wants to drive again, he/she should move to another jurisidiction. I have no sympathy for drunk drivers at all. Never mind 2nd or 3rd or umpteenth conviction. It's not like we live in a vacuum and don't know that drinking and driving is stupid and dangerous. A person knows the very first time that it's wrong.

In this case, I'm not saying the penalties are objectively enough, but I am saying that in relation to what one usually sees as penalties for such behaviour, his penalties seem pretty good.
