I remember a guy I used to work with (probably 35 years ago or so) killed himself driving drunk. He was speeding and wrapped his car around a light pole. I remember thinking at the time, "Well, at least he killed himself before he could kill somebody else."

I often feel the same way - too many times, however, it's the drunk driver who survives, and an innocent person who is severely injured or killed.

As I said, no punishment for drunk drivers who kill is too excessive.
